See your whole plant. Control it from one screen.
SCADA turns a plant full of isolated machines into one system you can see, control and learn from — live temperatures, levels, flows and pressures; alarms before they become breakdowns; production data your team can actually use. Mobile Automation implements SCADA systems for manufacturers and process plants across Melbourne and Victoria, from single-line HMI upgrades to plant-wide platforms.

Platforms we implement and support
- Ignition (Inductive Automation) — our go-to for modern, unlimited-tag, server-based SCADA
- AVEVA / Wonderware — System Platform and InTouch
- Siemens WinCC — including long-running support for a major confectionery manufacturer
- Citect SCADA — many years of experience on legacy and current versions
- Rockwell FactoryTalk View — backed by our long Rockwell/Allen-Bradley history
More than screens
A SCADA project is an architecture project: field instruments, RTUs and PLCs, networking, historian and reporting, alarm philosophy, and security. We design the whole stack — including cybersecurity fundamentals like network segmentation, access control and patching strategy — and because our engineers also program the PLCs and our electricians run the cabling, the data on the screen actually matches the plant.
What clients do with it
Downtime tracking that finds the real bottleneck. Energy monitoring that pays for itself. Batch and quality records generated automatically. Predictive maintenance from trend data. Remote visibility so the production manager stops driving in at midnight. We build SCADA around the decisions you need to make, not around the biggest license we can sell.
Frequently asked questions
Which SCADA platform should we choose?
It depends on your existing controls, size and budget. As a rule of thumb: Ignition for new server-based systems and flexibility; WinCC or FactoryTalk where you're already deep in Siemens or Rockwell; upgrades-in-place for legacy Citect and Wonderware sites. We're platform-agnostic and will show you the trade-offs.
Can you upgrade our old Citect/Wonderware system without a rebuild?
Often yes — staged migrations preserve your screens and history while modernising the platform underneath. Where a rebuild is genuinely better value, we'll say so.
Can SCADA connect to our old machines?
Almost always. Between legacy PLC drivers, protocol converters and adding I/O where machines have none, we routinely bring 30-year-old equipment onto modern dashboards.
Is remote access safe?
Done properly, yes — segmented networks, VPN access, MFA and audit trails. Done casually, no. We design security in from the start rather than bolting it on.
