The challenge
Conventional box erectors are big, caged, maintenance-hungry machines — overkill for many production lines that still burn operator hours folding cartons by hand. The gap in the market: carton erecting that fits in a small footprint, runs beside people, and changes over between box sizes without a service call.
The solution
We built the first collaborative robot box erector deployed in Australia: a cobot-based cell that erects every box size the line runs, with 0.1mm repeatability, no safety fencing (validated by risk assessment to AS/NZS 4024), and a footprint a fraction of a conventional erector's.
The results
- An Australian first — collaborative carton erecting, delivered by our in-house robotics team
- Reduced staff hours and RSI risk on repetitive carton folding
- Low maintenance, small footprint, all box sizes handled
