About the role
We're seeking a Special Class Electrician with strong industrial experience to step into a hands-on, high-responsibility role within our Electrical Services team. This role is ideal for someone ready to move beyond basic installation work and take ownership of more complex systems, projects and customer outcomes. Reporting to the Electrical Services Manager, you'll be involved in breakdowns, upgrades, preventative maintenance and technical installations — all within fast-paced industrial environments where safety, reliability and problem-solving are critical.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out fault-finding, repairs and modifications on electrical systems, machinery and production equipment.
- Deliver end-to-end support across project installations, shutdowns and preventative maintenance.
- Work on-site with clients, representing Mobile Automation with a professional, solution-focused approach.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and PLC wiring diagrams.
- Comply with and champion safety protocols, regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers and automation specialists to ensure seamless delivery.
What you'll bring
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience, with strong exposure to automation or manufacturing.
- Ability to work autonomously or in a small team across varied customer sites.
- A keen eye for electrical safety, compliance and system reliability.
- A valid Australian driver's licence.
Highly regarded
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron).
- Exposure to VSDs, control panels and field instrumentation.
- Understanding of AutoCAD Electrical or other electrical design software.
