The challenge
When this facility lost mains power, someone had to attend site, manually start the generator and switch the supply — slow, error-prone and dependent on who was available. With chillers, fire monitoring and security on the line, every minute of delay carried real risk.
The solution
We designed and installed an automatic transfer switch (ATS) system: two air circuit breakers with custom busbars integrated into the main switchboard, executed over a single weekend. A temporary generator kept chillers, fire monitoring and security live throughout the isolation.
The results
- Automatic changeover to generator within seconds of a mains failure — no human intervention
- Zero risk window during installation: essential services stayed powered throughout
- 24/7 hands-free power continuity, engineered and installed by one team
