The challenge
A leading chocolate and confectionery manufacturer in Ringwood was losing hours of production to momentary power events: spikes and flickers crashed the computer-controlled lines, and every restart meant lost time and lost product.
The solution
We designed and installed a 750kVA kinetic (flywheel) UPS — three 250kVA flywheel units providing around 15 seconds of ride-through, enough to carry the plant through virtually all mains events without batteries. The installation included a new 1600A circuit breaker on the main switchboard, new UPS distribution boards, and sub-circuit rerouting — with changeover cabling executed after hours to avoid production impact.
